Texas Chicken & Cheese Sandwich is a must. You can thank me later! Best sandwich I’ve had in years. My wife had the Texas Cheesesteak and that was amazing as well. We liked the atmosphere during lunch so much we had to come back for another beer and an appetizer before the Astros game. Next trip down to Houston I’d like to visit again hopefully for a concert.

Why is this location temporarily closing?

This location is temporarily closing to allow us to relocate in coordination with the city’s upcoming construction project. We’re excited about the George R. Brown Convention Center transformation and proud that The Rustic will be an anchor of the new convention center campus. Our new location will sit next door to the expanded GRB wing and even closer to Toyota Center. When can we expect this location to reopen?

We are excited to transition to our new Downtown home and plan to reopen in Q4 of 2026.  While we do not have an exact grand opening date yet, progress is already underway. Are you currently accepting private event inquiries for 2027?

Yes! We look forward to hosting you in our new and improved space that will be directly next door to the expanded wing of the George R. Why book a private event versus making a reservation at The Rustic?

Private events are tailored to groups of 20 or more who are looking for: dedicated service, guaranteed space, curated food and beverages packages, simplified checkout process, and expert team guidance.

What areas of the restaurant are available for group/private event reservations?

The Rustic features an inviting open-concept design with both indoor and outdoor space options. Our spacious outdoor patio, which includes both covered and uncovered areas, can be reserved for complete privacy. We offer flexibility for your event, accommodating patio buyouts, full venue buyouts, and designated areas tailored to your group size.

Can I substitute items in the food packages?

Our pre-selected packages were created to provide variety and value. Please inquire with your Event Manager about any questions related to food allergies or to inquire about creating a custom package for your group.

How is the food served?

For groups of up to 40 people, all food is served Family Style.
For groups of 41+, we will set up a buffet in your private area for lunch/dinner packages.

What kind of bar service options are available?

We recommend a pre-ordered bar package (charged per person) for all group/private events. We also have the option for drink tickets/consumption bar (charged per drink) or cash bar (guests pay on their own). See our bar packages HERE.

Can we bring items to celebrate?

Absolutely! We welcome balloons and birthday cakes for your celebration. However, please note that other outside food is not permitted. You’re also welcome to bring additional décor, such as table linens or centerpieces, with prior approval from your Event Sales Manager.

Are we allowed to bring in outside vendors?

Yes! We love working with local vendors! You are welcome to source your own vendors or request the help of The Rustic Sales Manager. Our sales team will gladly connect you with our favorite reputable vendors for all kinds of event services!

Can you help me book a band for my event?

Yes! We have talent buying and production services available upon request.
